Group seeks for P-Square and Jude Okoye to be arrested

The youth renaissance group under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the arrest of the music duo, P-Square, and their older brother, Jude Okoye.

According to the group, the brothers should be taken into custody for insulting the Federal Government over its plan to ban production of movies and music recording abroad.

In a statement signed by the group’s national secretary, Collins Edwin, the singing twins were helped by the government’s move to get local media to use a higher percentage of indigenous content on their platforms.

‘We read the scurrilous remarks credited to Mr Peter Okoye of the Psquare group against the Federal Government’s job-saving policy in the entertainment industry with great anger and vexation.

“He is childish and has no credibility whatsoever” — Phyno on Hushpuppi drama

Phyno is still speaking on the Hushpuppi Drama. This time he spoke with Sunday Scoop where he had a few words to say concerning the drama.
Rapper, Phyno made headlines few weeks back, when Malaysian-Based Nigerian Big Boy, Ray Hushpuppi attacked him and Ice Prince, and accused them of wearing Fake Patek Wrist Watches.
He wrote: “If you don’t want people to patronise pirated copy (sic) of your work, don’t patronise pirated copy of other people’s work #Hypocrites.”

Having none of that, Phyno took to his Snapchat account to reply. In a series of posts, he wrote,
“We are not on the same level. You live and die for Gucci. I will live and die for my people. The hunger is different here man…I’ve got cribs, live in my house, yet never posted it. Bought a house for my mum; never posted it. Got her a car on her birthday last two years; never posted it.”
Sunday Scoop caught up with the Igbo rapper and he stated that he had put the episode behind him.
Shedding some light on his background, Phyno said, “It is very childish to brag about what I have. I care more about touching lives in positive ways. It is not really about how much you have in your bank account but how many people’s lives you have made better. The good thing is that I have a track record and people know what I do. So it doesn’t really make sense for me to be exchanging words with someone who just came from nowhere and has no credibility whatsoever.”
“I am happy for how far I have come. My father never wanted me to become an artiste because he felt it wasn’t a good profession. But I decided to stick to my guns and I have proved that one can also have a good life with music. Now, people call on me to mentor their children and that couldn’t have happened years ago. Nigerian music has gone global and the future looks even brighter.”

Rising Afrocentric artiste Demola Awotungase better known as Demmie Vee has called out his colleague, Y. A. G. I CEO, rapper Lil Kesh for snubbing him at a recent event.

Demmie Vee, has revealed that his greatest regret is greeting YAGI boss and former YBNL signing, Lil Kesh.
According to Demmie Vee, who during a recent interview made this known adding that he greeted the rapper at an event only to be shocked at his hostile reaction towards him.

Speaking during a recent interview, Demmie Vee said;
“It was at a Lagos @ 50 event and I had gone to the event with 9ice.
“As I entered the event, the presenter that was interviewing Lil Kesh saw me and hailed me. The presenter was trying to interview me but I had to pay respect to Lil Kesh whom he was interviewing prior to my arrival.
“But things went sour with him and to my utter dismay, he yelled at me and pushed my hands off as i made to shake or embrace him. I never see myself as a competitor with him because our style of music is different.
He added;
“He said ‘guy wetin happen? I sabi you?’” “I explained to him that i just wanted to say hi, but he yelled again ‘for what? why you wan greet me?’.
I was shocked and extremely embarrassed. .
“I felt like the ground should just open up and swallow me because people were looking at me and i am generally a free minded person. I was like what’s bad in showing love to someone?.
Yet I saw this dude relating to a couple of people, so not like he was in a bad mood or something.”

8 Persons Dead, 60 Injured In Stadium Wall Collapses In Senegal’s Football League Cup Final

It was a bitter experience for the World of Football as Eight people were killed during Senegal ’ s football league cup final in Dakar on Saturday , the sports minister told AFP , as a wall collapsed onto clashing supporters triggering a panicked stamped.
The tragedy occurred during the match between USO and Stade de Mbour at the Demba Diop stadium in Dakar . Sports minister Matar Ba said a young girl was among the dead, while around 60 injured fans had been taken to health facilities in Dakar .
At 2 - 1 during extra time, US Ouakam supporters began throwing stones at Stade de Mbour fans , causing spectators to begin vacating their seats in a rush, the journalist said.
Part of a wall supporting bleachers seating fans from both sides then collapsed , while police had begun firing tear gas and panic

Nigeria set to ban Nigeria music video shot abroad (read why)

The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to issue a ban on shooting of music videos as well as movies outside the country.
The Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed made this known on Saturday in Lagos when he paid a visit to the headquarters of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).
During his visit, Lai Mohammed said:
‘This government has agreed that henceforth, whatever we consume in Nigeria in terms of music and films, must be made in Nigeria”
“We cannot continue to go to South Africa or any other country to produce our films and then send them back to be consumed in Nigeria”
“The Broadcasting Code and the Advertising Code are very clear on this. For you to classify a product as a Nigerian product, it must have a certain percentage of Nigerian content.”

A Nigerian man has been arrested by the police in Abia state after he brutally murdered a woman he invited to his house.

A dramatic incident has taken place along Obohia road, Aba by Assemblies of God Church, Aba Abia state. Prosper Festus who reported the incident revealed that a lady was shot dead by an unknown man who had invited her to his house.
Festus reported that the two had a quarrel and the girl rushed out obviouly to spread a secret when the man took his gun and shot her dead.
"This lady was shot dead right now in my street in obohia road Aba by Assemblys of God Church. A man invited her over to his house maybe they have issues the girl left his presence, he now went inside and brought out his gun and shot her.
"I don't know want she did, but it is like they have issues so the girl ran out to expose him, the man now chased her and shot her dead in the mainroad." Festus wrote on Facebook. (sic)
He further revealed that police men arrested the man after the incident.
"The man was later arrested by the police."
Festus added.
